With over 6 years of experience in cleaning professional footwear, bags, accessories, and even baby items, Sneakbag has built a strong reputation for its shoe laundry and refurbishing services in Bandung, following a standardized process with 100% handwashing.
However, since its first rebranding around 2021, the store concept and social media presence have taken on a more chic look with the help of a Graphic Designer. Despite this, both the owner and associates feel stuck, unsure of how to boost sales or revenue, which has remained stagnant occasionally. This is a challenge, especially considering their goal of expanding by opening a second offline store in the Bandung area. This is where I came in! Seeking a side project for my Data Analyst portfolio, I proposed offering a free Data Analysis service to conduct a comprehensive three-month revenue analysis of Sneakbag's offline store performance—providing the team with insights and recommendations to help them thrive in the industry.

The Tools
When choosing analytical tools for a project, I adapt to the situation. In this case, the business objective was to understand how customers become aware of Sneakbag's services to identify the most effective marketing strategies for expanding its customer base in the Bandung area.

To collect data, I conducted a questionnaire using Google Forms and combined the responses with datasets I aggregated from Sneakbag’s daily transaction app, Hui, by transferring the data manually to Google Sheets. This approach allowed me to analyze key metrics such as total transactions, total revenue, and other relevant factors, ultimately uncovering valuable insights.
To make the numbers more meaningful for the Sneakbag team, I transformed the data into a simple yet easy-to-understand visualization using Tableau. I always strive to design dashboards that align with the brand’s image, choosing colors that match the brand for consistency and visual continuity.

Finalising
Once I finished analyzing the data, crunching the numbers, and creating the dashboard, I was finally able to provide a few actionable recommendations for the Sneakbag team to improve future transactions and sales.

My recommendations focused on increasing customer engagement with both services and products, as well as enhancing Sneakbag’s social media presence. This could be achieved through initiatives such as launching a loyalty card, implementing a referral program, forming B2B partnerships, and creating a TikTok account.

I’m thrilled that this analysis turned out to be highly beneficial for the Sneakbag team, as they immediately began implementing the recommendations I provided.
